Meditations

Hara is the Japanese word for gut. The hara practice is the foundational practice of Cultural Somatics, aiming to nurture a deep inner felt sense and connection to your gut wisdom and body. This is a 9 minute adaptation of the practice, learned originally from Najeea Leslie and Tada Hozumi. To learn more about the hara practice and its relationship to colonialism and racial justice, check out Tada’s blog here.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, scared, disconnected or alone? Access your inner and outer resources and get a feel for the method of somatic resilience with this 25-minute grounding guided visualization. Some meditation experience can be helpful.

Are you feeling powerless or alone? Do you want to make a difference and help others, but feel overwhelmed with the problems at hand? This 12-minute meditation is an integration of the Buddhist practice of tonglen and the spiritual-ecological allyship of dandelions. It is a lighthearted yet powerful practice of expanding your own capacity and connecting to a greater web of healing support.
